Hello Bryan,
I'd like to be a RAC guy ... ;-) ... but, to get there I have the strong urge to do some testing and education first. So I need a cheap testing environment and not some highly sophisticated solution with 2 or more machines and some sort of SAN/NAS device in the background.
What I'm looking for is a simple how-to document such as metalink note no. 241114.1, which is for a RAC setup on a single node using 9.2.0.3.

I used these instructions along with the Oracle LINUX 10g RAC guide to install a 4 node cluster on SLES 9 in January. The guides on this site should help with the OS part of the installation.
I do not care about single node installations, I'm only a RAC guy;)

He was asking about RAC, not a trivial single node installation.
Instructions how to create
a split personality disorder on a single PC are on Dizwell site, writen by
Amit Poddar:
http://www.dizwell.com/oracle/articles/rac10glin.htm
The article itself is rather old, as it refers to 2.4 linux kernels but can
still be used.
Of course, having PC large enough for ASM and 2 instances is more expensive
then having 2
normal machines and a shared storage (not AmberWire, it's soooo sloooow).
