Just came back from a meeting and found out all the discussion had been going on.
Thanks a lot for each one of you. -- We will do more research and test of course, but now
I am leaning on multiple instances in a server, since we have two different apps.

I can also say from bitter experience that the more applications touch a single database the more difficult it is to schedule testing for a database upgrade. Every different development group must clear time in the schedules at the same time.
