compatibility issue

hi,

We have got one client who is running oracle 7.3 and developer 1.2 (forms 4.5 & reports 3). now they want just to upgrade the backend to oracle 10g but not willing to upgrade the developer until its impossible to work with developer 1.2. Now I dont know if it works or not. I just wanted to know if its possible to use backend as O10g and front end as developer 1.2? If yes then am I supposed to make any specific changes?????
