A couple of thoughts came to me in this general thread:

  1. an Oracle employee dropped an off handed remark to me in January that 9208 was still pretty far off (Summer maybe, they said). They could be wrong.
  2. Wouldn't it be nice if cpujan2006 was cpudec2005, so we could use the holidays to get our patching done with lower business impact. Not much going on from dec26-jan2 round here.
  3. I should be in the Caymans from dec26-jan2.
  4. Some people can't patch because 3rd party apps can't move to a supported/patch levels. I've heard that they are using snort to /dev/null interesting traffic. In this case, interesting are the know exploits such as the alter session stuff. -- http://www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l
