I received the following from folks working on the GLAST project, the Gamma Ray Large Area Telescope. The skymodel mentioned is a Monte Carlo simulation to check on the ability to collect data. It is run simultaneously on up to 1000 machines with Oracle as its backend ...



Hi Ian,

 This may sound odd, but a black hole source in our skymodel ate a bunch of jobs last night (they went into infinite loops when the BH was active), so we lost a bit of time. Tom is estimating 3pm tomorrow for completion. Is an outage of the weekend ok by you? Saturday or Sunday?


Sunday was fine. The system is now patched.
