Hey Niall,

Thanks for the script! The only problem is if the DB's not up and running. For example, the SAN goes away, catastrophic ORA-600s, SA reboots, etc. It's those kind of major cases that I can conceive as being the primary reason to page me for this particular DB. There are definitely problems that can (and most likely will) crop up while the DB's up and running, but without those major ones, I wouldn't feel as comfortable.

you could always do the alert.log from pl/sql itself in 9.2
