Is it possible a firewall was closed from your workstation to port 1521
on that server?
If it happens again you can test that by trying to telnet to the port: telnet ud505 1521

Also, if you have such entries in your tnsnames.ora file and try to import said file into OID via netmgr, it will choke on those entries. (Referring to entries of the form: CLSDEV,CLSDEV.WORLD = ...)
