Thanks for your reply.

I am going to try your suggestion but looking at the solution in Metalink, I am
a little confused whether it is going to work for my situation.

the dads.conf line:

PlsqlDatabaseConnectString hostname:1521:asdb SIDFormat

If the database being accesses remains the same then how is it going to be possible to do development which will require me to use a different database.
