I think what he means is that in 10g there is no O/S limitation in regards to using \ Transporatble tablespaces and one of the limitations is that you cannot transport the \ system tablespace.

I think what you're thinking of, is that starting in 10g, you can migrate a database \ across platforms via RMAN, avoiding the need for exp/imp.  

Not sure what you mean by "migrate the system tablespace". The idea is to migrate the \ entire database from one platform to another.

I thought I recalled reading somewhere that in 10G R2 you would be able to even migrate \ the system tablespace across platforms. I am no longer able to find a reference \ supporting this.  

Can you migrate the system tablespace in R2??
