Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> can't get HTTP server installed (newbie)
i'm a relative newbie, if this isn't the right place, let me know.
GOAL: get the HTTP server (the one required for oracle workflow) installed.
SITUATION:
sun E450 test box. solaris 10.
enough memory, disk.
the database 10.1.0.2.0 has been installed, seemed just fine.
this combination of software is in the certify matrix--whatever it's called. i DID change those two PROCESSES values that workflow mentions. all well. the database is running.
what else do i need to have running?
unsetenv ORACLE_SID
unsetenv ORACLE_HOME
run the installer. (i saved my answers, just in case anyone wants to
see them.)
i give it a new oracle home and empty directory.
here's what it says:
0 of 1 processes started.
ias-instance id=standalone
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ias-component/process-type/process-set:
HTTP_Server/HTTP_Server/HTTP_Server
Error
--> Process (pid=8896)
failed to start a managed process after the maximum retry limit
Log:
/VOLUMES/dbsw/app/httpg/product/10.1.0.2.0/opmn/logs/HTTP_Server~1
Configuration assistant "Starting HTTP Server" failed
that file says:
and i know nobody wants to see that log file.
the last bit of that log file seems merely to repeat what the other stuff told me.
any help?
thx.
j.
