Hi Alex
The reason is because there is a complex process run daily to recalculate data, if for example you forget to enter a operation is better to restore backup enter operation and redo the process.

This rarely ocurrs, anyway If you tellme there should be a way to do it without recovering backup
1) this will take too much time to process 2) the customers don't want to pay the ttime to do and mantain that process to avoid recovering the backup

because this is small rarely you have the problems you can have with ar eally big database, to recovre a tablespace, etc..
