* Oracle DBA with 8i/9i Needed in San Diego CA

Company located in San Diego California area (Del Mar) has an opening for an Oracle DBA with
8i / 9i experience to join it's IT staff.

• No Relocation Assistance is provided, but company may consider candidates willing to pay their own interview and relocation expenses.

Base Salary is in the 80-85K range depending on experience.

This is a full time staff position so no sub-contractors or third parties. please.

No H-1B candidates please.

*Description:
Database Administrator will be responsible for overall database administration, maintenance
and monitoring. This includes managing the database environment on all associated levels:
Oracle, operating system, cluster software as well as optimizing database performance through
tuning. This position will act as a consultant/advisor to the software development and
the quality assurance organizations in all matters relating to the database, including PL/SQL code.

*Requirements:
-5+ years experience as a database administrator for Oracle 8i/9i
performing all of the
  following tasks:
   o Database administration, performance tuning, schema design.    o Design and implementation of backup & recovery procedures.    o Development of PL/SQL code including stored procedures.    o Management of multiple databases in multiple environments.
-2+ years DBA experience in a UNIX environment including shell programming.
-Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills paired with a
forward-thinking and
  anticipatory style.
-Thorough understanding of the demands of a state-of-the-art production
environment.
-Strong customer service attitude.

While not required, it is preferred that candidates possess: Experience with Veritas Cluster Software. Experience with Data Warehouse implementations. Experience with J2EE implementations.
Oracle education classes.

-MUST be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
