You should always use 10. Using 2 just shows that you don't understand binary.

There are only 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary and those who do not.

You wouldn't want to use number system based on the number 1010, would you?

Is there any real performance benefit to using base 2 sizes vs. base 10 when dealing with datafiles and extents?
