To me it seams suspicious that the same test generated a so different workload. Just give a look to the number of executions of your API... in case2 there are 70-80% more calls than in case1. Other figures (e.g. logical reads, user calls and parses) are completely different as well.

If you already are on 10gR2 there is a new facility to compare two periods... With it, it's straightforward to see the differences...
