I guess you could attempt to help them understand. Lets say a = virus "infects" an Oracle datafile, now what? It isn't run as an = executable, the worse case is now the file is corrupt and you will have = to restore from tape. The antivirus software probably wouldn't protect = you from that anyway. We had a customer when I was with a different company that had it turned = on and their very fast server with plenty of disks was =3D to a server = costing about a quarter as much in terms of performance. Once they = excluded the oracle data and log and control files all was right with = the world.
