* Oracle Apps DBA Position in Pennsylvania

Great company Located in State College, Pennsylvania has an opening for Oracle Applications DBA
to join it's staff.

Base salary is in the 90-100K range..depends on experience.

*Responsibilitites include:
-Serve as lead Oracle Applications DBA within the company's IT organization.
-Manage multiple database instances.
-Serve as a technical leader in establishing, maintaining, supporting, and
upgrading databases
  and their associated architecture and environment.
-Coordinate all database support activities for one or more project teams.
-Configure and maintain the Oracle database, application servers and
E-Business Suite
  software environment in support of a global business environment.
-Install database/applications software, application patches and planned
upgrades.
-Participate in all phases of software development process, including
requirements, design,
  and development, to assure adequacy of design and compliance with technical standards.
-Manage database and application performance and provide tuning on an
on-going basis.
-Maintain and monitor corporate backup and disaster recovery strategies.
-Provide technical assistance to other Database Administrators.
-Provide technical assistance to development to troubleshoot and resolve
application issues.
-Train designated backup personnel.

*Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or equivalent.
Master's degree preferred.
-Ten years supporting tier one ERP systems including seven years in current
Oracle database
  technology and applications and five years supporting a global environment.
-Hands-on experience in installing/upgrading from earlier versions of 11i
to version 11.5.8
  or later, including upgrading technology stack components   (e.g. AS, JRE, JDK, Forms, J-Initiator).
-Oracle Database Administration experience with configuration, load
balancing, backup/recovery,
  sizing and space management, PL/SQL tuning, diagnostics, and proficient with the use of
  Oracle's Enterprise Manager tool.
-Expert knowledge of Sun Solaris, Oracle PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting and
internet
  architecture are required.
-Excellent planning, organizational, communication and problem solving
skills are required.
-Must have the ability to work independently and effectively manage projects.
-Excellent communication skills are required.
-Must have strong knowledge of state of the art operating systems.
-In-depth knowledge in the configuration and utilization of RMAN and
stand-by databases.
-Demonstrated technical leadership on Oracle-related projects.
-Experience leading DBA activities, and coordinating with outsourced vendors.
