The Concepts Guide is probably the best place to start and might have everything you need:

Subject: Rollbacks
Is there a 'definitive' paper/book/etc. on how rollbacks work/are choosen/etc on Oracle 8.1.7.4 and Solaris.
Any links would be appreciated.
