RE: 10gR2 no longer installs on non-supported Linux

            10gR2 works fine on CentOS 4.0. That's a bit of a cheat, as CentOS is a perfect free mirror build of RHEL 4.  

            Before I started using CentOS, I often used the instructions from www.oracle-base.com <http://www.oracle-base.com> to get 9i versions working on FC2/FC3. They have various guides for 10g installs, you mind find something useful there.

Well I got it installed on FC3, but as the installer thinks that this is a supported distribution I'm not sure that counts.

And thanks to the Gentoo development, I'm unable to upgrade my glibc because they delete ebuilds from portage and a revdep rebuild will fail. <sigh> Really need to dump Gentoo -- gone WAAAY downhill since Daniel Robbins left.

BTW, this is my desktop, and I'm running a 2.6.8-gentoo-r3 kernel on a 2.6Ghz P-IV w/1G RAM.
