No, you CAN install 9.2.0.6 beforehand : see Metalink note 214887.1

John ... i have to install 9iR2 first . i.e., 9.2.0.1 and then upgrade it to 9.2.0.6 . Is there a direct installation of 9.2.0.6 ??!! (i dont think so) .
So only 9201 can be installed beforehand.
