I subscribe to several mailing lists as I'm sure many here do. The Lazedba mailing list is in the ending throws of a long discussion of dba's and dba work. To summarize the pro's and sons of that discussion, suggest to your friend that he become a plumber.

A co-worker is interested in moving from development work to DBA work. I
had suggested the Columbia CTA program but apparently that no longer exists.

Can anyone recommend classes in NYC other than the Oracle-provided classes?
