Not quite sure what it's called, but I've done it myself.

I remember when I first started out with Oracle I was transitioning from dBase II and III programming. I did a directory listing on the Prime computer, and saw all these .dbf files. I said to myself, "What the heck are all these dBase files doing out here!", and promptly deleted them all!
