PCMCIA actually stands for People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms,
so COTS actually means Completely Obscured Technological System.
punchline: If in doubt, spell it out. If you're sure everyone knows the acronym, spell it out the first time in a thread anyway. Or don't.
