Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Help critical install shared cdroms
So I ended up saying the heck with it as I don't want to go much farther
without hooking up with the system admin.
I instead did a scp from the disk to the target host which brings up another question.
Doing a scp -pr everything is owned by root - any known "gotchas" about copying the files with "-pr" then running the install from a staging area?
Thanks,

Also,
I can see these mounted and shared cd's from other boxes - just not this particular one - the one I need - indicating something amiss with the nfs client on this box.
Can I use a mount command directly? I have tried a simple mount but it just hangs and hangs.

Hi
Have you check owner/group and permissions?
What user is having the issue? Is this user in the group that is same as missing one?

Mike Thomas
