Ok, I see why you replied with the GETLENGTH response (I left it out for
brevity in the original). But thanks for taking the time to mention it! I
guess we will stick with the LENGTH approach on 9i and the
DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH approach on 8i. I haven't done much with LOB's and am
learning a gazillion things about them each day (and a lot of things I'm not
crazy about).
