The reason 10g came into play probably is because that is the version that
supports OS transportability without export/import. Staying with 9.2 means
IMHO the downtime to do the export/import.

I cant run the db on Linus as files are in NT format just using Linux as =
a=20 store as no NT disk available

If I am recalling the correct conversation from Birmingham, the challenge is to migrate from 9.2 on NT4 to Linux with minimal downtime? That is the real aim is to change OS platform, rather than necessarily the DB version.
Am I recalling all this correctly?
