Hi Paul,
Here are the results from my linux server, which has 8.1.7.4, 9.2.0.5 and 10.1.0.2:
0:30-:dv03:oracle-/dev/pts/1 > cat /u01/app/oracle/product/oraInventory/oui.loc
InstLoc=/u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0/oui
InstVer=10.1.0.2.0
[ /u01/app/oracle/admin/dv03/bdump/tmp ]

So if, I understand this correctly, I need to install 2.2.0.18 OUI, displacing the current 10.1 version, so as to avoid this bug. Is that they way you read this?
The reason for my confusion is that the 10.1 OUI was *required* to install the 9.2.0.4 patch set. So, what happens when I try to install 9.2.0.6, whenever it appears?
And patches to 10g?
This alert is not giving me a warm fuzzy feeling.
