I always say "cancel" for network configuration and just copy our standard
sqlnet.ora, tnsnames.ora and ldap.ora to the network/admin directory.

I'm not sure, because I stopped relying on the installer to do any = configurations for me after I realized that it either bombed trying to = do it or I needed to modify rhe config afterwards anyway.
Click "Skip" (or is it "Cancel"?) on the net config portion and fire it = up manually.

Subject: Manual steps in RAC setup ... is it just me?
Hi all,
I'm building some RAC "twins" for development and testing, and have =3D
noticed that if I don't manually build tnsnames.ora and listener.ora, = =3D
the installer fails to create them when creating a clustered instance, = =3D
and everything ends up in a mess. Is this normal, or am I suffering the =
=3D slings and arrows of outrageous installers?
Details
generic Intel x86 boxes, shared firewire storage, separate NICs for =3D
public and private. linux 2.4, modified fedora kernel (from OTN) oracle
9.2.0.4 32-bit (latest OTN copy)
(The only up-side to this is that I have now built eight clusters in two =
=3D weeks ... I'm feeling less ignorant about the process)
Comments?
Ciao
Fuzzy
