Multiple FREELIST GROUPS were originally designed for parallel server =
(aka OPS, aka RAC), but
on very heavy DML databases, there can be some benefit to setting =
multiple freelist groups on
single instance Oracle, as well.
Go to MetaLink, and check out Freelist Management with Oracle8i, by = Stephan Haisley! It's excellent!

Subject: Tuning question: FREELIST GROUPS
Hi all,
Why we need FREELIST GROUPS?
What are the differents (in terms of advantages) between
CREATE TABLE mytable STORAGE (FREELISTS 2);
and
CREATE TABLE mytable STORAGE (FREELISTS 4 FREELIST GROUPS 2);
regards
Sinardy
