Everyone seems surprised that a major vendor would even consider such a short patch upgrade frequency. I have worked with Oracle since 1989 on IBM mainframes, and it used to be a regular process to receive such updates on a consistent basis.

I can even recall applying patches which causes database crashes, indicating the concept of regression testing was absolutely nonexistent in those days!
