The Solaris 8 (Sunbox) uses a different OS as compared to the X86
version of Solaris( akin to Linux). The CPU chips and different

Download the appropriate Oracle version from OTN and have fun.

Solaris: 9 vx x86
Oracle 9i.
Does anybody any idea that oracle for solaris 8 (runs on a sunbox) can be loaded on an IBM PC which has solaris x86 installed ?
