We are looking to pull some data (batch jobs no distributed OLTP) from a SAP/UDB on AIX into our 9i DB on AIX. We do have a gateway to mainframe DB2 but not to the UDB on AIX. The Hetrogeneous Services Admin guide seems to explain how to get the Generic connectivity set up.

Is anyone on the list using this kind of connectivity? Can you please share you experience with performance and set up bottlenecks? Also, which vendor's ODBC drivers are you using? I would greatly appreciate if you can list the s/w components involved in the end to end connectivity and what features you had difficulty using or any SQL caveats you learnt by using this architecture.

This is to avoid using FTP and synchronized push and pull at the two ends. However any suggestions are welcom.....

TIA
Sundeep
