Just wondering how much memory is on these servers and if you're doing much parallel processing?
Also, if you think you have too many CPUs and have more than just the database on a server, you may look at the man pages for psrset. Should be in /usr/sbin. This lets you restrict what CPUs an app can have. I think you could also make a case for reducing your license costs.
Same command on Solaris - TRU64 is pset
