I think you can

set autot trace

it will give you the statistics of the statement.

                                                                           
 select value from                                                         
 v$sysstat where name                                                      
 like '%redo size%';                                                       
                                                                           


executy statement
and check the statement again.

read oracle metalink note : 1037780.6
