Hi,
I want to move to new server on unix platform.
Current : 8 database ,Oracleapplication 9i
platform: UNIX
purposed : 9i database,Oracleapplication 10g Platform :UNIX
Please suggest which approach would be good with minimum interruption to the
production enviornment.
Which option would be good Export/Import OR we need to install the same
version of oracle on new server and then upgrade by keeping the view with
minimum intrruption of production enviornment and less riskly?
I'm thinking following plan ,please correct me if any. 1)Install OS on new db and application boxes 2)Set enviornment.change kernel parameters etc according to oracle database and applciation server and rebuild the kernel.
3)Install OS patches/packages if any. 4)Install Oracle9i DATABASE and Oracleapplication 10g on 2 diffrent boxes. 5)Create database and map tablespaces according with currect. 6)take export on production and FTP to new box. 7)Import the data in usermode. 8)Configure the tns and listerner 9)test the applications
