All the Oracle database software (other than patchsets) if freely
downloadable from OTN (Oracle Technology Network) at http://otn.oracle.com.
Assuming you have a broadband connection (or a dialup connection and a lot
of patience) you can download the 10g CD there and install the 10g client.

Thanks, but the main question still remains: "...how do I get the "10g client"? Need to have the 10g CDs?" ...or is it available somewhere separately. So far I've looked, haven't seen a free download anywhere.
