it's seems you cant change adress of dispachers on the fly. But it is posible to change other parameters, dispachers count for example.

SYS:jozh> alter system set
dispatchers='(address=(protocol=tcp)(host=tpjv)(port=7021))(dispachers=2)'; System altered.
SYS:jozh> alter system set
dispatchers='(address=(protocol=tcp)(host=tpjv)(port=7022))(dispachers=2)'; alter system set
dispatchers='(address=(protocol=tcp)(host=tpjv)(port=7022))(dispachers=2)' *
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00105: dispatching mechanism not configured for network protocol (address=(protocol=tcp)(host=tp

This seems like it should be easy:

  1* alter system set =
dispatchers=3D'(address=3D(HOST=3Dcary.biz.com)(port=3D3620))' SQL> /
alter system set =
dispatchers=3D'(address=3D(HOST=3Dcary.biz.com)(port=3D3620))' *
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00105: dispatching mechanism not configured for network protocol (address=3D(HOST=3Dcary.biz.com)(port=3D3620))

also,
alter system set =
dispatchers=3D'(address=3D(protocol=3DTCP)(port=3D36200))(dispatchers=3D1= )'
*

I've tried various permutations, same message. 9.2.0.4 solaris. = Currently have 5 dispatchers running TCP.

any ideas? I know there's a bug regarding above command with 'spfile' = clause, but Support doesn't think that's it, just thought I'd try the = list also.
