The Urquell is the mother of all pilsners, that's for sure.
As for Tuborg, it's not. It's a bit complicated to explain, but let me just say that I have indications that the big breweries (like Carlsberg, who makes Tuborg also) apparently are using enzymes to reduce the time required for the beer in the tanks. According to my sources, the use of these enzymes (delivered, of course, by large pharma companies) can take the required storage time from 6-8 weeks down to a couple of days. Isn't it surprising that despite that, these standard beers STILL doesn't taste of anything?
We've run a website here called www.ViBrugerikke.dk, which translates to We Don't Use. It's about how to get rid of sales people by explaining to them that we don't use whatever they are offering - eg. computers, cars, phones, light bulbs, customers, personal development, and much more.
Well, a few weeks ago we also registered
www.ViBrugerIkkeCarlsberg.dk
It's not in use yet, but it will be. I'm sick and tired of standard beer.
Mogens
PS: I shall make sure you get incredible beer when we meet.
