Okay. Now we have two viable alternative recipes. I thought just freezing
the bottle of rum would work for Pete and Mogens (see bottom of original
message. Swig is American for drinking from the bottle.
I can't think of a good substitute for the pineapple juice for constructing my wife's original recipe.

Alternative recipe for you Mogens is listed below...(patent pending)
6 oz. pineapple juice => replace with pineapple juice bottle (empty), then
filled with single
malt
4 oz. grapefruit juice => replace with grapefruit juice bottle (empty), then
filled with single
malt
8 oz. good rum => retain
ice cubes => retain
Easy...
