I'm going to be in San Ramon (Northern California) on 19th August to do a couple of presentations for the NoCOUG summer conference (http://www.nocoug.org). This should be quite an event, as it includes Tom Kyte, Tim Gorman and sundry other heavy hitters in the Oracle world.
I was planning to do a one-day layover on the way home from another event to do the NoCOUG thing - but had to cancel the other event, and found myself committed to flying from London to California for a day-trip. So the board of NoCOUG have helped me to arrange a run of the one-day tutorial: "Understanding and Assisting the Cost Based Optimizer." (http://www.jlcomp.demon.co.uk/tutorial.html) to cover costs, and make the visit last as long than the flight.
It's a bit of a one-off at a special price, short notice, small event, limited audience (to 30), so I asked Jared if he would allow me to post a note about it on the list. Thanks, Jared, for letting me do so.
If you're interested, drop me an email.
Regards
Jonathan Lewis
