Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: RMAN duplicate hangs
Ok, I just tried using the backup controlfile option with a set command =
to change the name, but it is looking for an old archive that doesn't =
exist anymore, so I tried to alter the sequence using a higher one but =
it detects that belongs to other db.. ?
I gonna start over with another idea..=20

That's OK. You don't need to.
I still think it's hanging up creating the new control file. If you run =
out
of ideas and are willing to experiment: Go to the original database; =
alter
database backup controlfile to trace; copy the file to the duplicate
database; edit the file as needed (perhaps change the database name?);
create the new controlfile; recover the database using backup =
controlfile;
open database resetlogs.
If it doesn't work. Well ... then I guess you get to start over.
