Thanks Jared... The person was swearing up and down it was abolished... So I
better check with the more knowledge guys here :)
I guess on the system we are on.. Ultra secure..it has been blocked several
ways...

The person telling you that was confused.
svrmgrl is no longer available after 8i, and the only way to connect to 9i as sysdba is via sqlplus.
