The problem *is* likely to be some oddity of the data - since the query only barfs for certain values of the string literals, but I also suspect that there is an underlying bug in some component here - as Mark says this corresponds to an OCI_SUCCESS_WITH_INFO status message - which shouldn't (in my book) result in the death of the process.

I'm hoping that the outer joins are pointless - since this system has no NOT NULL columns.
