Actually, this box is secondary -- my primary desktop is Gentoo. This needs to be Windohs in order to get necessary things like IE because the web was invented by Bill Gates. Sarcasm aside, I do need a place to troubleshoot Oracle stuff on Windohs clients and as of yet there are no Linux tools that match the power of TOAD (and since Quest bought TOra, I'm not holding my breath).

Excellent opportunity to reformat your hard drive and install suse linux. Then re-install oracle and this problem will NOT reoccur.
