An update, I discovered that the Oracle Agent (8i variety) was the culprit,
as soon as I stopped it space usage on /orasw dropped from 99 percent to 27
percent.

Subject: A comment on oraInventory
Importance: Low
Our Unix admin discovered that in /orasw/app/oracle/OraInventory, we have a 168 byte file under 9 levels of directories.
Each directory is 8k in size, do the math.
It's not the only file like that.
He said: "Why don't they just put all this info in an Oracle database??!! Or an Access database? It would take less space."
LOL We have a huge discrepancy between what df -k tells us about volume free space and what du -k tells us about space used by files on the /orasw volume.
