Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Re: Short_names vs long_names objects...
Jose,
I like to keep table names less than 15 characters (20 max) so that objects you name related to that table (e.g. indexes / constraints) can easily inherit the table name.

Lisa

Hi to all...
I'd like to know if any of you have docs for naming objects, pros and cons...
Some guys are saying that Oracle recommend the use of objects with less than 30 chars (24 to be accurates) because of performance reasons.
That objects names should be in singular, and not much longers.
Any points or docs?
TIA
JL
