You can use 1 listener.ora file. Is your 8i installation 32-bit or =
64-bit.
If 64-bit, you can have 1 listener for both versions. I'd make it =
version
9. If 32-bit, you'll need 2 entries in your listener.ora file. One for =
8i
and one for 9i.
You only need one version of the tnsnames.ora file. That is not version specific.
Location? I would let it default to standard, which on Sun is /var/opt/oracle.=20

oracle 8.1.7.4 and 9.2.0.4 installed on separate OHs.
hw: v880 Suns 8gb RAM, 4 CPU's=20
What works best for you if you have 8i and 9i on same box?
