Idea for "self-tuning" database

With the penchant some people have for using layers of views with multiple complex joins and subqueries instead of tables, I am wondering if in 10g (or later) the database is going to start looking at the number of views referring to views, or statements going through synonyms and db links in its execution plan analyses.

And if roles turn out to be slower than sys and obj privs, then perhaps take that into consideration as well.

Patrice.
