Sure.
The general rule is that if you can create a database link between the two systems, you can use materialized view replication. Oracle 9.2 connects to Oracle 8.0 and later systems, so you're fine. You could even upgrade the 9.2 database to 10g and still be able to replicate, since 10g connects to 8.1.7.4 and later systems.=20
