If I'm reading this correctly, your primary swap is 2GB. The problem with dmesg is that it won't show you secondary swaps installed (at least I don't think it does -- it doesn't on our HPUX box, either). Try posting the output of "swapinfo". If it's only 2GB on a system with 6GB phys RAM, that's your problem. Absolute minimum should probably be 6GB total swap.
