Try this, if you haven't already :
cd to that directory and say rm -i *
when it asks for the file, say yes.

Subject: OT: Quick (?) UNIX Question
Somehow, a user has created a file called '-v' in a production directory. How in ******* do I remove it? I've tried all the 'rm' variants I know, to no avail. Wah!
Thanks,
Mike
